Nicole DeLarge

Nicole is a Portuguese filmmaker and multidisciplinary visual artist based in Ireland for the past five years. She completed her degree in Cinema at Escola Superior Artística do Porto, followed by a Master’s degree in Film and Screen Media at University College Cork.
Her background spans film, classical music, dance and graphic design. She has worked professionally in the film industry in both Portugal and Ireland, while her early work as a writer/director has screened internationally and received Portuguese film funding support.
In recent years, Nicole’s practice has become increasingly connected to Cork’s independent film and music scenes. She is the graphic designer for Out Of Frame, one of the film programmers and graphic designer for Priosma Queer Film Festival, and currently works in the marketing department of Cork International Film Festival. (i dont know if i should add the ciff bit or not up to you really)
She is also the founder of LIGHTER, an independent creative project centred around organising live music events, visual identity and moving image, through which she has directed several music videos and live sessions for emerging musicians. She also manages Cork band Irvine.
Her work is often drawn to surrealism, the uncanny, atmosphere, performance and the relationship between sound and image, bringing together the different disciplines that have shaped her practice over the years.
